Shiba Inu is a meme coin, which is a cryptocurrency associated with some theme—like the Shiba Inu—but is often launched as a parody or inside joke rather than as a digital product that actually has utility famous collie dog. Shiba Inu was created in August 2020 by an anonymous individual or group called Ryoshi, but is now lead by a person using the name Shytoshi Kusama.

The amount of coins you can purchase can cause significant losses if SHIB’s price ever tumbles, but the chance of tremendous gains also exists.
Though its adherents may point out that Shiba Inu-based NFTs are now available, and its Ethereum base and new Layer 2 blockchain should increase transaction speeds and scalability, as of Sep. 4, 2024, Shiba Inu has very limited utility and does not have a compelling use case other than allowing non-fungible token trading and limited gaming.
The BONE token is a governance token with a total supply of 250 million. BONE holders can propose and vote on changes to the Shiba protocol through the Doggy DAO, which stands for decentralized autonomous organization and refers to an organization managed by computer-based rules instead of a single controlling member. In addition, BONE is used to reward liquidity providers on ShibaSwap’s platform.

Well, Welch is back—though not in front of a mic. Instead, she’s issued a very lawyerly statement following the news that a class action lawsuit has been filed against the team responsible for $HAWK and its unceremonious but extremely predictable crash.
But some memecoins have also courted controversy. SQUID, a memecoin inspired by Netflix’s popular show “Squid Game,” was famously accused by investors in 2021 of being a rug pull when the project’s unknown creators disappeared after cashing out and crashing the currency’s price. Celebrities who have touted crypto coins without transparency about their financial incentives have also faced scrutiny and legal action.
At the table, Welch explained how she was feeling about her new venture, telling PokerNews: “I’m a little nervous. It’s a smaller (one-table event), so everyone’s going to be watching our table. And I still don’t know what I’m doing.”
